DRASS Diving System onboard the Korean Navy ASR II

The installation of the Drass Diving System onboard the Korean Navy ASR II ship has been completed!
In 2018 DRASS was awarded the Korean Navy contract to supply an advanced diving system for the new Submarine Rescue Ship ASR-II. The project includes the design, manufacture and installation of the complete deep diving system, and is being implemented in collaboration with the local partner Dongil Shipyard.
The 120 m-long ASR-II ship, named Ganghwado is being constructed by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), one of the 5 largest shipyards in the world with an extensive record of military and offshore vessels and was launched last October.

From March 2022 DRASS will be involved in the commissioning and start-up of the system with a team of specialized engineers at the shipyard on Geoje Island. The ship is expected to be delivered to the Navy around mid-2023 following a series of trials and evaluations to which Drass team will be involved.
DRASS is the preferred supplier of the Korean Government and DSME for diving and submarine rescue equipment, and a returning partner after the successful delivery of ATS-II rescue ship for the Korean Navy in 2016 and, prior to that, for the ASR21, ATS1 and ASR58 rescue ships for the Korean Maritime Police.
