The UWX SERIES is an underwater optronic sensor head that marries mechanical and electro-optical engineering to provide users with discrete self-contained systems. Equipped with multiple windows, this low-profile sensor head is extremely difficult to spot thanks to its stealth design. The UWX SERIES can be installed on ultra-thin hoistable masts or on boat roll bars. The UWX SERIES excels in observation, surveillance and navigation. It is designed to be used for various marine applications such as SAR (Search and Rescue) boats, law enforcement vessels, high-speed patrol craft, underwater swimmer delivery vehicles and other such vessels. The camera can provide equally clear, high-resolution video in total darkness, as well as in bright sunlight. It is even possible to see through smoke and fog.

SAVER can be installed in two different configurations depending on the priority given to the performance of the rescue operation and the possibility to mobilize the rescue spread at greater distances in a short time. Thanks to the cooperation with experienced ship designers, DRASS offers a complete range of submarine rescue and submarine intervention ship designs and shipbuilding solutions.

In-built installation

The in-built installation operates the Submarine Rescue Vehicle through a moon pool, allowing safe rescue operations in the most challenging weather conditions. Additional advantages are the immediate mobilization of the vessel, the availability of the main deck for alternative operations and the reduced maintenance of rescue equipment protected in the indoor hangars.

Modular installation
The modular installation on deck allows the road / air / sea deployment of the rescue spread on a vessel of opportunity to cope with remote emergencies that are out of reach of a single rescue vessel. It also allows the storage of equipment on shore when the vessel of opportunity is deployed for various missions.

Underwater Technology

In today’s geopolitical climate, reinforcing national defence resources, particularly in maritime areas of economic interest, is high on the agenda for many littoral countries.
With the aim of safeguarding these expansive coastal areas whilst, at the same time, optimising defence investment, these nations are looking to innovative technical solutions that provide a balance between performance and overall cost. For this same reason, defence agencies favour the acquisition of multipurpose ships, adaptable to different coastal operational scenarios and available in adequate numbers to secure redundancy and intense patrolling.
Multipurpose operability is achieved using modular payload that can be added as required for a specific mission. An optimal multipurpose vessel, therefore, is designed to operate with maximum effectiveness in any given, peacetime or wartime, mission scenario with the respective payload on board.
However, the acquisition of multipurpose vessels is not common in complex armed forces since each agency (Navy, Coast Guard, Special Forces) has its own dedicated procurement office whose objective is the realisation of a standalone requirement without cross-agency cooperation. This drives to amass a multitude of large vessels, each with a limited profile. These high-value units invariably become prime enemy targets.
Additionally, a large vessel with blue-water mission capabilities is designed for prolonged periods at sea, allocating much of its space on board to store fuel and other supplies. In coastal defence scenarios, such an extensive endurance is not a requirement due to the presence of national harbours and supply bases for refuelling and replenishing of supplies.
In like-for-like investment, therefore, a sizeable fleet of small green-water vessels considerably outperforms a sparse fleet of large vessels in terms of operational versatility and synchronised coverage in any scenario.

Recreational Solutions

The Drass Diving Support Boat (DSB) is a class of uniquely designed boats embedding a hyperbaric diver decompression chamber (DDC) for treatment and prevention of decompression sickness. Drass DSB houses the DDC just above the keel level, giving the boat a much better stability when compared to vessels of similar dimensions. This ingenious solution enables a boat of limited dimensions to operate a DDC, whilst also leaving most of the open deck available for routine operations and safe navigation in high seas, thereby enhancing the boat’s effectiveness. Drass DSB comes fully equipped with a complete hyperbaric unit, including DDC, control panel, air storage, HP air compressors, filters and diver panels where required. Thanks to these combined features, Drass DSB is a multi-application rescue vessel that can be specifically configured for use by coastguard, navies, governmental emergency response teams, commercial and recreational diving companies. Drass DSB48 doubles up as an ideal mother vessel/rescue vessel for recreational scuba. It offers dive operators, divers onboard and those in the locality, the safety of a hyperbaric chamber in remote diving locations. Thanks to its limited dimensions, DSB48 is also the perfect boat for commercial diving in shallow waters of harbors or coastal areas, offering increased safety during prolonged diving operations. The use of a rescue boat in touristic areas makes it possible to provide a decompression facility as a first aid emergency response, significantly increasing the chances of saving human lives at sea when encountering incidences of decompression illness. The vessel can comfortably accommodate 14 divers plus the marine crew, and the DDC is designed for 2-men occupancy. On stern, the hull has a central passageway to permit entry of a stretcher into the 1300mm DDC. The DDC is PED compliant (European Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU), designed and built according to EN13445, and with a working pressure of 18 msw.

Diving Products

DRASS Galeazzi, founded in 1927 with the aim of designing and manufacturing diving systems and equipment, invested heavily into fostering innovation design of its products. The industry had been utilizing a cylindrical shape for deep dive products, but when Drass Galeazzi introduced the spherical shape to the world, great depths were suddenly reachable and new frontier opened up for everyone. Throughout the years, DRASS Galeazzi has continued its tradition of innovation and with extensive field experience coupled with decades of innovative equipment development, DRASS Galeazzi Research and Development Department initiated in 2017 its newest challenge of designing and developing a Diving Helmet called the D-ONE. All of the progress and innovative design techniques that DRASS R&D has developed, comes from creating equipment that is at the cutting edge of technology and production quality. This ensures the highest level of safety for the operators involved in the Commercial Diving activities and, at the same time, satisfies the desire for stunning design as per typical Italian tradition. DRASS R&D Team is not comprised simply of highly skilled Design Engineers, but also includes Professionals with wide-ranging experience in the Commercial Diving sector. This culmination of experience, professional diversity, and innovative focus has enabled the development of products that provide extraordinary value and set us apart from our competitors. Much of the team being physically and personally connected with the Oil & Gas Commercial Diving sector for decades has provided invaluable insight. This extensive and increasingly rare experience is always incorporated into every detail of every product we manufacture. It allows for a dynamic and methodology within Drass which drives innovation and keeps us at the forefront of the industry year after year. The D-ONE represents the highest echelon of product which DRASS proudly offers in the marketplace. Confident that the proposed innovations will maximize Diver safety and comfort while providing ergonomic implementation and usage practicability, Drass believes the D-ONE can greatly serve the interests of the Operators in this technological and demanding sector. This Helmet has been tested for air use up to -50 msw as per “European Standard EN 15333-1” of January 2008, “Respiratory equipment – Open-circuit umbilical supplied compressed gas diving apparatus – Part 1: Demand apparatus” and EU Directive “EU 2016/425” that substitutes “EU 89/686/EEC”. It is CE marked with the second stage balanced demand regulator and oral nasal mask HT-01 MKI.
