OCCAR VISIT | DRASS ROMANIA

The S.A.V.E.R. Submarine Rescue System is approaching completion at DRASS Romania — a modular, transportable, and state-of-the-art capability designed to enhance the safety of submariners at sea.

While S.A.V.E.R. already has a strong international dimension in its development, the new Italian NFS submarines are being built fully compatible with the system, ensuring the required interfaces and interoperability from the outset.

Safety is the ultimate priority for those operating beneath the sea. For this reason, Commander Decio TRINCA, OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation), U212 NFS Programme Manager, and team recently visited DRASS Romania during the final phases of factory testing of the SAVER system, reviewing the progress of construction and holding technical alignment meetings on its future operational employment, including with the NFS submarines.

The DRASS Romania team, led by Technical Director Marco Bellomo and General Manager Cristina Sav, was honoured to host the visit.

With sincere thanks to the Italian Navy and OCCAR for their trust and collaboration, we now look forward to the upcoming delivery of this critical capability, setting a new benchmark in submarine rescue operations.
