ALL ABOARD the VESPUCCI

Last week, Diana Botti, our Diving Sat Systems Sales Coordinator, joined the Italian Navy’s Vespucci ship as part of the Generazione Vespucci Project, in her capacity as Sailing Instructor of the Italian Sailing Federation (Federazione Italiana Vela – FIV).

Over the course of two unforgettable days on the Civitavecchia–Livorno leg of the tour, Diana accompanied a group of 16 young sailors (aged 14–17) from the Italian Sailing Federation in an experience rich in challenge, learning, and inspiration.

“It was a special opportunity for me,” Diana shared, “to combine my passion for sailing and the sea with my professional role, while experiencing first-hand this collaboration with the Italian Navy in a context rich in educational and human value.”

The Generazione Vespucci Project — promoted by FIV – Federazione Italiana Vela, in collaboration with Difesa Servizi S.p.A. and the Marina Militare — gave these young sailors a unique opportunity to live and train aboard the Vespucci: a majestic sailing ship, as impeccable today as when it was first launched in 1931. Working side by side with the crew, they immersed themselves in the rhythms, responsibilities, and emotions of life at sea — a truly formative and unforgettable adventure!
