Another key focus within this portfolio is the snorkel system—an essential element for diesel-electric submarines. By facilitating air intake to the engines and expelling exhaust gases at periscope depth, the snorkel enables battery recharging without surfacing — fundamental to extending endurance and maintaining stealth.

For the DGK compact submarine, DRASS has developed an optimized snorkel system tailored to its specific diesel-engine configuration and sail design to ensure peak performance. To that end, we are finalizing the integration of a dedicated in-house Snorkel Testing Facility, enabling comprehensive validation across the full spectrum of operational scenarios.

This advanced snorkel solution allows the DGK submarine to remain submerged for longer, delivering operational effectiveness during covert missions and extended patrols — providing today’s navies with a proven, stealth-enhancing capability for complex littoral environments.
