SUBMARINE RESCUE FORCES TRAINING

Submarine School, Taranto Naval Base

DRASS continues its engagement in advancing submarine rescue capabilities—this time within the training framework of the Italian Navy.

This week, Davide D’Alessio, DRASS Program Manager and former submariner, instructed the CRF (Coordinator Rescue Forces) Course organized by ISMERLO (International Submarine Escape and Rescue Liaison Office) that is currently underway in Taranto.

As Drass’ state-of-the-art S.A.V.E.R. system (Submarine Assistance, Ventilation & Rescue) nears deployment with the Italian Navy, Davide led a focused session on its operational impact during DISSUB (distressed submarine) emergency scenarios. Setting a new industry benchmark, S.A.V.E.R. system delivers ✅️unmatched maneuverability, ✅️rapid deployment, ✅️extended endurance, ✅️superior performance in high sea states, and ✅️ twice the passenger capacity of any existing rescue asset.

We extend our thanks to Commander Stefano Oliva (ISMERLO Branch Head), Captain Andrea Molaschi (SMER Department Head, Italian Submarine Command), and all those contributing to the success of this important course.
