SDO-SuRS Deployable Assets Training for Submarine Rescue Navy Operators now ongoing

The SDO-SuRs RESCUE SUBMARINE and INTERVENTION Systems training for Navy Divers and Technicians is now underway.
Its inauguration was opportunity for DRASS course trainer Giuseppe Campo (ILS Manager) and Marco Bellomo (DRASS Technical Director) to make introductions and become acquainted with the new participants.

Selected from the Italian Navy, inside the Gruppo Operativo Subacquei of COMSUBIN (Operational Diving Group), this military personnel will be thoroughly trained to conduct Submarine Rescue & Intervention Deployable Systems and perform complex rescue operations from distressed submarines at a depth of up to 600 meters sea water.

The new SDO-SuRS (Special and Diving Operations-Submarine Rescue Ship) program is an initiative of the Italian Navy and national defence industry to support Special & Diving operations, Rescue Submarines, as well as respond to the growing need to protect vital underwater infrastructure in the Mediterranean Sea.
